About
Why this tool exists
Pan Card Resizer does one job: it gets your photo and signature to the exact pixel size and file size that NSDL or UTI expect for a PAN application. No account, no dashboard, no upsell.
It exists because that one step trips up a lot of applicants. A phone camera shoots a photo that's thousands of pixels wide and several megabytes — both portals want something much smaller and much more specific, and NSDL and UTI don't even agree with each other on the exact numbers.
How it works
Your browser does the work. Resizing and compression happen locally using the Canvas API built into every modern browser — nothing is uploaded to a server, including ours. Details are on the privacy page.
Where the numbers come from
The NSDL and UTI presets reflect dimensions and file-size limits that are consistently published across guidance for both portals. They do get revised occasionally, so the tool shows the numbers it's using and lets you override any of them by hand — worth a quick check against the live form before you submit.
One thing we want to be clear about
This is an independent, free utility. It isn't built or run by NSDL, Protean eGov Technologies, UTIITSL, or the Income Tax Department, and it can't check the status of an actual application.
